Looking Upward and Forward

It’s a New Year! Happy New Year!

If you read my last post, you’ll know that I will be the first to admit… I am really thankful for a new year! It’s funny, January 1st is just another day on the calender and yet it inspires people (myself included) to reflect, restart, recommit and revamp!

I have no idea what’s in store for the new year. For all I know, Jesus will come back and I’ll finally get married! (Hey, it’s what I tell the aunties at church when they bring up the dreaded ‘m’ word). But if that doesn’t happen, here are 5 things I’m looking forward to (in no particular order):

My Website! Screen shot 2015-01-06 at 12.25.38 PMOkay…so you’re probably thinking, something along the lines of what I’ve been thinking:

Sne, do you really need another outlet to perpetuate your narcissism? I mean come on, you’re already taking up enough space on the world wide web with facebook, twitter, pinterest and instagram…do you really need to take up more? Does the world really need a snehathomas.com?

Maybe you’re not thinking that, I hope you’re not anyway! But if you are, then well, why are you here? Just kidding… but no really…

In all seriousness though, if you know me, you’ll know this site has been a long time coming. I’ve been thinking about this for the past few months and I finally did it! My revamped website has an official domain name, logo and fresh new look. It’s now lighter, whiter and brighter! I hope that I’ll continue to use this medium as a means to encourage those of you in my sphere of influence (I’m praying there’s at least two of you!), and hopefully (but no guarantee) more frequently.

(I’m trying to avoid making resolutions that I might not be able to keep. So don’t hold me to the promise of frequent posts… actually, do hold me to that! Accountability is great!)

Naujavan Toronto

Yess…here I go again. Enough with the Naujavan you say! No! Not enough! I’m so passionate about this cause, because it’s a kingdom cause. It’s my dream to see more young people, particularly those of us that are South Asian, coming together as one and using their gifts and talents to glorify God. There’s so much disunity and contention already existing in and between local churches. Just imagine us being counter-cultural and painting a different picture… one that is true to the Father’s heart!

PS. I’m really excited that my mates are coming from the UK. I’ve had actual dreams about this happening so this is literally a dream come true!

Answered Prayer

God is constantly in the business of answering prayer, so this really isn’t limited to the 2015 year. It’s just that God is so insanely creative and timely. I can’t wait to see how He will meet and go beyond what I can ever dream or imagine this year.

A Chance to go to The Burger’s Priest!burger

The Burger’s Priest is a seafood restaurant… just kidding! It’s a burger joint (obviously) in Toronto. After hearing rave reviews from friends, colleagues and television shows I’m eagerly awaiting the opportunity to chow down on a good burger. After 5 failed attempts in 2014, this is one resolution that I won’t let slide. I hope it’s clear to you where my priorities lie. This burger better live up to the hype!

Catching up with Downton Abbey, Books and New Music!

I don’t know why I didn’t jump on the Downton bandwagon when I was in England. Thankfully the wagon didn’t make it too far and I somehow managed to get on. Thank God for netflix!

There’s also some pretty awesome books and music coming out in 2015. This might even be the year when I finally invest in a kindle and read more.  Again, there’s no guarantee. I’m trying to refrain from making resolutions. Notice how I didn’t even mention my diet and exercise goals? (I’m gonna need some after those burgers!) But seriously, hold me accountable.

New music is one thing I guarantee I will be delving into. If you want to know what kind of music to look out for this year,  Relevant Magazine has some great recommendations. Be sure to check out them out!
